There's No Time Like The Present...
Friday, October 9, 2009

It’s been a rough start, to say the least. Starting 0-4 was never in the plans, and I don't think it was in the minds of any player, coach or fan. A couple plays here and there, a miscue or breakdown at the wrong time or just a letdown on the field... it's all added up to some bitter-tasting Sundays.

It's not where any of us want to be, but we’re here. And after what was one of our best seasons in history to one of our slowest starts, I (like all the other players in the locker room) am ready to get things headed back in the right direction!

You've heard it before, but it's true: There's no time like the present to make the corrections and play the football that this team is capable of. We need to put all our talent and ability together and get it in gear. I think we can still get a grip on this thing and make something out of the season, but that obviously won't be easy. Sure, we need to get a win, but we also need to define who we are and what our attitude is! And there's no better time to get make that happen than this Sunday against the Colts at LP Field.

With Code Blue in effect, we will need the support of all our fans sticking behind us, making noise and cheering us on. There's no time to be negative! As a team, we must stick together, keep a positive attitude and find a way to pull out our first victory. It's going to be an uphill battle from this point on, but I have faith in all our guys and coaches to get the job done... Each player just needs to do his part – do his job – to better this team. Nothing fancy: Know your assignments and responsibilities, then execute them with precision.

Every game, every down – every play is crucial at this point... and they all start this weekend with the Colts!
